His love of the environment drew him to this area, where he met his wife </span><span style="font-family:comic sans ms;font-size:16px;">Lorraine</span><span style="font-family:comic sans ms;font-size:16px;">. They established Eivins Ski & Board Rental and later Eivins Lodge, Motor Camp and Ski Rental at Tongariro.  Skiing and ski jumping have been prominent in Eivins Life and he still hold the NZ longest jump record of 120ft made in 1957,of which he dominated into the mid '60s, not to mention numerous other wins and two times winner of the crater lake races. </span> </p>  </body>
