New entry signs for National Park Village
A time for celebration as the new & bold entry signs to National Park Village are finally installed at the three main entry roads to the village.
The whole project has taken three years from inception to realisation with a fair bit of time taken getting consents from the various landowners where the signs are located and the various official bodies.
The project leader, Cy Messenger, is ecstatic to see the signs in place and relieved the project is done.
The project was developed and financed by the National Park Village Business Association. Earlier concerns about the costs are now in the past with the realisation these signs are a long term investment and elevate the profile of the village.
The project has been well supported by council, with labour donated by local businesses, access and materials by Landcorp and DoC..
While the three signs are large they will be replacing five smaller signs previously erected by council and Land Transport and therefore removing some of the highway signage clutter.
