A temporary park and ride site for shuttle services to and from the Whakapapa ski and snowboard area is now open in National Park Village.
The site at Findlay Street, next to the National Park train station, has been gravelled and compacted for this season. Construction of a fully paved facility is set to start at the end of the season.
Snow shuttles operated by Ruapehu Alpine Lifts run from the site every half hour from 8.15am to 10.15am on weekdays or until 12.15pm on weekends. Shuttles back to National Park leave from the top of Bruce Road every half hour from 1.15pm. Tickets for the shuttles are $6 return per person with kids up to 4 free when travelling with a paying adult and not occupying a seat. Ticket can be bought from a cashless self-service kiosk at the park and ride centre or from Customer Relations on the mountain. The service will run until.
