Summit Shuttles is a transport company who pride themselves on a quality, friendly service; getting you to your mountain destination at any time, any day of the week. We transport to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing plus Ruapehu & the surrounding areas.

Summer:
The Tongariro Alpine Crossing is one of the best one-day treks available in New Zealand, and it ranks among the top ten single-day treks in the world.
Summit Shuttles provides tailor-made trips to the Crossing to suit all trekkers with return trips from National Park Village. Avoid the peak periods by getting one of our early shuttles, these can start from 5.45am during the long summer months or start as late as 9.30am to enjoy the quiet of the Tongariro Alpine Crossing just before sunset.
We also offer one-way pick-ups from the Ketetahi Road end at 5.45am and 7am.
Pricing for the 2022/23 season is $55 per adult return and $30 per youth. One way shuttles are $35 flat rate.
Inclusive of your fare, our transport operators will supply you with a map and card with times to various points on the Tongariro Crossing and our contact details in case of an emergency. We’ll provide you with info on the weather conditions and safe hiking practices to help get you on your way.
If the weather isn’t looking too flash or you are keen to try something different we can offer transport to alternative hikes in and around Tongariro National Park or mountain bike hire.
Winter:
Summit Shuttles provides transport to Whakapapa Ski Area. We offer this service daily from National Park Village park & ride. Park your car and get up onto the slopes for a day skiing, boarding or sightseeing.
