Saif Ian Rashid has recently started as the new Hotel Manager for the Chateau Tongariro Hotel. His career spans 18 years in hospitality, having worked in various roles in hotels across Australasia.

His vast experience includes stints for iconic chains and brands including Hilton, Rendezvous Hotels, TFE Hotels, and IHG Hotels, working across many departments. Prior to joining the Chateau, Rashid was Hotel Manager for Auckland’s Stamford Plaza where he had worked for two years.

“While I loved my time at the Stamford Plaza, my family and I were ready for a change,” says Rashid. 

“The clean mountain air of this beautiful region was one of the key things that attracted me to this role and my family are loving being part of such a tight knit community in one of New Zealand’s most beautiful locations.”

Rashid is looking forward to managing one of New Zealand’s most iconic hotels and working closely with local stake holders in the Whakapapa Village, National Park and the greater Ruapehu region to contribute to the ongoing success of the business.
